Niabi Zoo Visit

Today a Niabi Zoo representative visited our school. She brought birds, reptiles and mammals. The kids were excited to see what was in all the covered cages. Bowlesburg students earned this assembly by earning B.O.B.s throughout the month of April. Our class earned enough B.O.B.s so we were able to hear the presentation today.

One of the first animals she shared was a bird. She talked to the kids about bird characteristics such as, they have feathers and they lay eggs. They loved looking at the two birds she brought. They got really excited by the next picture.

That's right! Nothings more exciting than bird droppings on the gym floor during an assembly.

The kids enjoyed the fox. She just snuggled up in the zookeepers arms. Students were also able to see a snake. Overall, the students had a great time seeing these animals close up.

Bake Sale

Today was the second grade bake sale. What a crazy morning! The second graders brought in LOTS of yummy food to sell. We had customers ready to buy at 8:35. The bake sale was completely sold out by 10:20. I think that is the fastest a bake sale has ever been sold out. All the kids had an opportunity to work at the sale and buy treats.
These yummy cupcakes didn't last very long at all.

Kolton is promoting the sale of some cookies. He's the money man at this table.

We had some 4th grade helpers help monitor the exchange of money.
